These days, Alicia Keys is in a motherhood state of mind. The singer and her husband, Swizz “Kaseem Dean” Beatz, “joyfully welcomed their first child,” son Egypt Daoud Dean, on Oct. 14 in New York City. This is the couple’s first child, though Egypt “is welcomed by Beatz’s three other children,” the statement adds. Keys, 29, and Beatz, 32, are not only new parents together – they are also newlyweds. The singer and the rapper-producer were married in a private ceremony overlooking the Mediterranean Sea in July. At the time, the two didn’t know the gender of their child, but Swizz Beatz said they were excited to start a family together.

Jonas Brothers might be getting “Camp Rock 3″ on their sleeves, if Zack Taylor can be trusted. According to the celebrity blogger, Disney executives have reached out to some of those on board the “Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam” after the TV movie sequel opened to a major success upon its TV premiere.

On the first “America’s Got Talent” semi-finals results show, Australian pop star Kylie Minogue performed her new single “Get Outta My Way“, complete with big hair, black minidress and half-dressed cabaret backup dancers.

“Get Outta My Way” is Minogue’s second single from her 2010 album “Aphrodite.” “Way” will officially drop on Sept. 27. “All the Lovers” was the first single and it debuted in June at No. 1 on the U.K. charts. Minogue can also be seen in a cameo role as a rock star in the lesbian werewolf movie “Jack and Diane” starring Juno Temple (“The Other Boleyn Girl”) and Riley Keough (“The Runaways”).

John Mellencamp has released his new album No Better Than This to global radio via AirPlay Direct. The Rounder Records album was recorded at a variety of historically significant locations around the South and was produced by T Bone Burnett, who earlier collaborated with Mellencamp on the much-lauded Life Death Love and Freedom.

No Better Than This was recorded on vintage equipment – a 55 year-old Ampex tape Mellencamp_Canvasrecorder with just one microphone at various locations including the First African Baptist Church in Savannah; Sun Studios in Memphis, and in room 414 of the Gunter Hotel in San Antonio.

Don‘t look for an album filled with artists covering his tunes, or a prime-time star-studded tribute blowout to mark the anniversary of Michael Jackson’s death.

Because it’s not happening.

Instead, there will be smaller tributes around the country, quite a few media-driven events and what is sure to be lots of fans remembering the King of Pop by playing his music and watching his videos.
